Car park sealed off in unexploded ordnance alert

An alert over unexploded ordnance has led police to seal off a Shropshire car park.

A 30-metre cordon has been set up around the Leek Street car park in Wem where the device is situated, West Mercia Police said.

Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers are due to attend the scene to assess the ordnance and if needed it will be moved to a safe location, police said.

The public have been urged to stay away from the area.
