When will clear and sunny skies return to Sacramento? See next week’s weather forecast

Gloomy weather may have Sacramento residents wondering when spring-like conditions will materialize.

The wait is almost over, according to the National Weather Service.

However, the region will first see a couple more days of rain, wind and possible thunderstorms.

What will the weather be like in Sacramento this weekend?

There’s a 90% chance of rain showers after 2 p.m. on Friday in Sacramento with wind gusts as high as 29 mph, according to the weather service’s seven-day forecast.

A wind advisory is in effect through 11 p.m. Friday across the cities of Sacramento, Modesto, Fairfield, Suisun and Stockton, the agency said.

Meteorologists warn that winds of 15 to 25 mph — gusting to 40 to 45 mph — could overthrow unsecured objects, snap tree limbs, and knock out electricity.

“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” the weather service said. “Use extra caution.”

The chance of rain is forecast to drop to 50% on Saturday, while the possibility of thunderstorms is expected to increase. The high temperature will be near 62 degrees.

By Saturday night, conditions are set to dry up completely with partly cloudy skies and a low of 46 degrees.

When will clear and sunny skies return to Sacramento?

On Sunday, minimal rain could linger in Sacramento before completely coming to a halt later in the afternoon, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Kate Forrest.

Sunday will see a high near 66 and a low around 45, according to the weather service forecast.

A robust warming trend could start Monday and extend through Wednesday, the weather service said, with the northernmost portion of the Sacramento Valley expected to see 80-degree temperatures.

When the weather heats up, Forrest said, it’s typical for that section of the Sacramento Valley to see high temperatures due to its terrain.

Next week, temperature highs in the Sacramento area will range from the mid-60s to the mid-70s, coupled with sunny skies, according to the weather service’s forecast.

Rain could then return to the region.

“It’s less concrete right now,” Forrest told The Sacramento Bee on Friday morning via phone. ”It’s a little too far out for me to speak on anything like that.”

Light showers could resurface on Thursday in the foothills and the mountains.
