A scary moment involving a packed Lufthansa Airlines flight was captured on video at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday.

The 747-8i, Boeing’s largest version of the popular “Jumbo Jet,” was attempting to land when it hit the runway hard and bounced twice, prompting the pilot to abort.

The incident, known as a baulked landing, was streamed on Airline Videos Live and later posted on YouTube and social media.

“Holy Moly!” remarked Kevin Ray, the website’s owner and host, as the jet slammed into the runway and burned rubber. “That is the roughest landing I think we’ve ever caught on our broadcast.”

Lufthansa Flight 456, which originated in Frankfurt, Germany, circled the airport and landed without incident a short time later.

An airline spokesperson told KTLA 5 News late Wednesday that 326 passengers and 19 crew members were aboard the “training flight,” and no one was injured.

“Following an assessment by the cockpit crew, a consultation with the technical department on site and in Frankfurt and an initial visual inspection, the aircraft flew back to Frankfurt. There it will undergo an additional inspection,” the spokesperson said.
