Former child stars turned husband and wife, Alexa Carlos PenaVega, have shared some heartbreaking news.

On April 15, Alexa and Carlos shared a joint statement announcing their daughter, Indy, was stillborn.

“There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss,” the couple began their statement shared on Instagram.

“After a beautiful and peaceful delivery our daughter ‘Indy’ was born at rest. It has been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace. God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms,” they continued.

Alexa and Carlos wrote the prayers they’ve received from within their support system “have been so sustaining in this difficult season,” adding that their daughter “has already changed our lives in so many ways.”

Indy was the couple’s fourth child. “She was absolutely beautiful. And looked just like daddy. Dark hair and all.”

“Grief has come to us in waves. Moments of feeling blessed by just getting a moment with her.”

Alexa and Carlos admitted they “can’t understand why things like this happen and we may never get answers.”

“Indy Rex PenaVega, you completely changed our world. You moved us to a new place. You gave us the community we have been longing for. We love you, [and] can’t wait to see how many other lives you change.”

The actors first announced they were expecting Indy back in November.

Over the last few weeks, Alexa has been open about how difficult this pregnancy has been on her. She was in the hospital for several days in March after she noticed light bleeding despite being in her third trimester.

In her vlog, Alexa admitted she didn’t feel fear but concern when the bleeding got heavier and she couldn’t feel her baby girl moving despite being an active baby.

She was eventually diagnosed with partial placenta separation from her uterus.

Indy is survived by two older brothers and one older sister: Ocean, Kingston, and Rio, respectively.
