The family and friends of a five-year-old girl who was killed in a lorry crash have thanked people who left "heartfelt tributes" for her.

Mountbatten Primary School previously described pupil Jessica as "wonderfully unique, curious, funny and so very kind".

Flowers and other tributes have been left near the scene of the crash which happened on Hopewell Road in the Bilton Grange area of Hull in April.

The girl's family released a statement through Humberside Police which said the support of the local community had "brought them great comfort".

Humberside Police said the flowers and other tributes would be removed from the scene of the collision in the coming days.

A plan for a permanent memorial is being considered to allow family, friends and other people affected by the incident to pay their respects.
