Four members of 'ghost' drug line are jailed
Four men who were part of the so-called "ghost" drug dealing line have been jailed.
The group were arrested in Peterborough on 17 May last year after a tip-off to police that people were hiding at a flat at Bayard Plaza in Broadway.
Drugs including heroin and cocaine worth £76,150 were found inside a drawstring bag, that had been thrown onto a flat roof.
The defendants admitted being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and were sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday.
The sentences were as follows:
Zorhib Hussain, 27, of Gladstone Street, Millfield, Peterborough, jailed for six years and nine months
Hassan Nazir, 25, of Cromwell Road, Bedford, sentenced to six years and seven months
Safyaan Khan, 19, of Lynton Road, Millfield, Peterborough, jailed for four years and five months
Zayn Ali, 28, of Bradwell Road, Longthorpe, Peterborough, sentenced to three years
Hussain, who was renting the flat for £3,100 per month, was arrested trying to leave the scene in a white BMW X7.
Nazir was found by police in a communal hallway, while Khan and Ali were arrested at their homes that same day.
Police said as well as the drugs, £2,480 in cash and six mobile phones were seized.
Officers said 18 people had now been jailed as a result of their Operation Tsunami investigation.
Det Con Lucy Carter said: “The evidence built up against these four men was strong, showing their involvement in supplying heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine in Peterborough, as well as the financial gains for some of them.
“We are doing all we can to disrupt these groups and information from the public can greatly assist with this.”
Hussain also admitted six charges of supplying crack cocaine and Ali admitted four counts of supplying crack cocaine.
Khan admitted supplying crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place - namely an extendable baton.
