One person treated in hospital after York River Ouse boats collide

One person was taken to hospital for treatment after two boats collided on the River Ouse in York.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it received an emergency call about the collision near Lendal Bridge at about 12:25 BST on Wednesday.

An ambulance, rapid response vehicle and team leader were sent to the scene, a spokesperson said.

Six people were checked for injuries and one person was then taken to York Hospital, they added.

The extent of the person's injuries is not yet known, nor are the circumstances surrounding the collision.
