To no one’s surprise, UConn received the No. 1 overall seed, with Houston, Purdue and North Carolina all receiving No. 1 seeds in their respective regions.

Pro bracket tip: UConn is the defending national champion, the only team to hold the No. 1 AP ranking for nine weeks, and the only No. 1 seed to win their conference tournament. But, as we well know, there’s so much more at play, so here are 40 things you should know about the men’s tournament.

Here’s a breakdown of how things could play out by region:

The semifinals and finals in each region will be played March 30-31 at different locations, while the men’s Final Four is set for April 6 and 8 in Phoenix.

Over on the women’s bracket, are we really surprised?

The No. 1 seeds went to the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks, Caitlin Clark and Iowa, Pac-12 champion Southern California (USC), and Big 12 champ Texas.

It’s the third overall No. 1 seed in a row for the Gamecocks, and here’s how coach Dawn Staley responded. And if anyone’s wondering, the only way we see a South Carolina-LSU rematch is in the National Championship game. Among others, LSU would have to get past Iowa to face the Gamecocks. Speaking of Iowa, what we will see a lot of is fan favorite Caitlin Clark, as ESPN has reportedly assigned a reporter to shadow Clark’s entire journey through the tournament.
