Toddler seriously injured after fall 'from height'

An 18-month-old girl suffered serious injuries after she fell "from a height".

Emergency services were called to Cranfield Avenue in Middlesbrough at about 08:33 BST on Thursday.

The toddler was driven to James Cook Hospital by ambulance and her condition was not believed to be life-threatening, Cleveland Police said.

A spokesperson added the incident was not being treated as suspicious.

The North East Ambulance Service said it had dispatched an ambulance crew and a clinical team leader to the scene, and was supported by the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
