Tributes paid to pair killed in M1 trees collision

Tributes have been paid to a man and a woman who died after a car crashed into trees along a motorway.

Tyler Cox, 18, and Darren Reilly, 55, were with three other passengers when their silver Range Rover left the southbound carriageway of the M1 near Watford on 1 April at about 20:10 BST.

A woman in her 30s is being treated in hospital while two children are recovering at home.

The 18-year-old's family described her as "deeply missed by all who knew her".

In a statement, they said: "Despite her typical teenage interests in TikTok and K-pop, her maturity and wisdom was undeniably beyond her years.

“Her giggles at what was going on around her was sometimes the only reminder of how young she was."

Mr Reilly's family said he had "lived life to the absolute max".

They added: “Dad had the biggest personality, the biggest heart and when he was passionate about something, everyone knew.

"He leaves a large void in our family - a void that will never be filled.”

Hertfordshire Police have urged anyone with any information about the crash to contact them.
