A man and a teenage boy have been arrested after an altercation between four people in Kent.

Emergency services were called to Richmond Road, Gillingham, at 21:30 BST on Thursday.

Members of the group were alleged to have been carrying weapons, Kent Police said.

On Friday, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, both from Gillingham, were arrested in connection with the incident.

They remain in custody while enquiries continue, police said.

Investigating officer Ellen Compton said: “We understand that there were several members of the public in the area at the time and we would like to talk to anyone with information about the incident.

“We believe that these suspects are known to each other and that there is no risk to the wider public."
