Berkshire fatal crash: Family tribute to 'kind, strong-willed son and brother'
A man who died after crashing into trees beside a dual carriageway was "kind, strong-willed... and had a passion for cars", his family has said.
James Browes, 26, from Basingstoke, Hampshire, was driving a black Astra which left the A33 near Three Mile Cross, Berkshire, shortly after 16:00 BST on Saturday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, in her late teens and from Reading, remains in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
Two vehicles - the Astra and a blue VW Golf - may have been travelling in convoy towards Wellington Country Park when the crash happened, police previously said.
The Golf briefly stopped before driving off, according to officers.
Two men, aged 26 and 34 from Basingstoke, and a woman, aged 24 from Woking, were arrested and later released under investigation.
In a statement, Mr Browes' family said: "We would like to thank the members of the public and emergency responders who tried their best to save Jamie's life.
"We can't begin to put into words the heartbreak and sadness we are feeling, and ask for privacy as we grieve the devastating loss of our son and brother."
