Derbyshire road damaged by landslide in need of more repairs
A Derbyshire road that was closed for two years after significant landslip damage needs to be repaired again.
Lea Road, between Cromford and Crich, was badly damaged following a landslip in January 2020.
Derbyshire County Council has now discovered signs of further movement on the road, including cracks that run for several metres.
The road was closed for repair works and was only opened again 16 months ago.
Council officers have confirmed the road will close on 21 April for temporary repairs and investigation work.
In an update to residents, the council said: "We realise that this closure will cause some inconvenience, and we apologise for this.
"We've planned it for a Sunday outside of half-term to try to minimise any disruption.
"The road is quite narrow at this point, so we need to close the whole road to do the work."
Temporary traffic lights have already been installed on the road.
They will be removed on 22 April after the work is completed, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
