Four accused of murdering man attacked in park

Four people have been accused of murdering a man who died after being attacked in a Birmingham park.

They were detained after police were called on 16 March to Perry Hall Park, where the body of father-of-one Michael Junior Obasi, 38, was found.

Ion Calin, 18, Manuel Filipache, 21, both from Normandy Road, Birmingham, Ion Morar, 20, of Bragg Road in the city, and a boy aged 15, have been charged with the murder and robbery of Mr Obasi.

They are all due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court, West Midlands Police said.

Three of the accused, apart from the 15-year-old, have also been charged with the robbery of another man on 15 January.

The force believes Mr Obasi was also the victim of a serious assault, between 19:00 and 20:00 GMT on 14 March.

Two men who were arrested have been released on police bail, while a third has been released and will face no further action.
