Lottery player wins $2 million on Florida ticket. Where did the lucky winner buy it?

A lottery player has something big to celebrate after hitting the jackpot in Florida.

The person tried their luck on the Florida Lotto game and bought a ticket worth $2 million. The ticket won by matching all six numbers picked in the April 24 drawing, results show.

The winning numbers: 20-31-35-38-39-43.

So, where was the lucky ticket sold? The ticket came from a Publix grocery store on Taylor Road in Port Orange, near Daytona Beach. At the supermarket, the player selected the quick pick option, meaning a lottery machine randomly chose at least some of their ticket numbers, the Florida Lottery wrote on its website and in a news release.

As of 9 a.m. April 25, no one had come forward to claim the $2 million prize. Drawing game winners have about six months to cash in, lottery officials wrote online and in an email to McClatchy News.

Florida Lotto tickets start at $2, and the game’s jackpot prizes are at least $1 million. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 22.9 million, according to game rules.
