Major fundraiser saved after insurer pulled out
A major Jersey fundraiser was saved at the last minute after its original insurer pulled out.
The True Grit obstacle course in Ronez Quarry is one of the biggest events Wetwheels Jersey hosts.
The charity had to know the number of runners before securing insurance and three weeks ago when they were finalised it approached the insurer it had previously used, which told them it no longer covered Jersey.
An agreement with another insurer was agreed on Thursday evening meaning the event would be able to go ahead on Sunday.
'Significant funds'
True Grit "has become an established event on the Jersey calendar", said David Jones, chair of Wetwheels Jersey in a statement when this year's event was announed.
"It is a fun but competitive challenge, and it raises significant funds, which help cover the cost of operating Wetwheels Jersey," he added.
The charity offers trips out to sea for disadvantaged and disabled people.

More people than ever signed up to this year's event with 300 people expected to make their way around the course.
True Git is a 4.3km (2.7 miles) course which starts and finishes at the top of Ronez Quarry.
People run down into the quarry, make their way past machinery and obstacles before climbing back to the top of the quarry.
