Miami-Dade medics rescue drowning teen from Homestead canal
A teen was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after being rescued from a Homestead canal by Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue divers, according to the department.
The rescue happened around 1:15 p.m. at 2355 Southeast 28th Avenue. A Fire Rescue spokesperson said paramedics received a call about a possible drowning.
The teen was taken to the trauma center at Jackson South Medical Center, the spokesperson said in a text. The teen’s condition was not immediately available.
