A motorcyclist has died following a crash on a road in the south of the Isle of Man, police have confirmed.

Callum Moore, 26, was flown to the UK for hospital treatment after the incident on the Ballamodha Straight, near its junction with South Barrule, at about 16:30 BST on Wednesday.

The Isle of Man Constabulary said another man was “helping us with our enquiries”.

Det Insp Steven Berry said the investigation into the incident was continuing and the force’s “sincere condolences are with family and friends of Mr Moore at this difficult time”.

Det Insp Berry appealed for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV at properties in the area from the time of the crash to come forward.

He also said police were particularly interested in speaking to “anyone who saw two motorcycles being ridden together in the area of the Ballamodha Straight in the immediate time prior to the collision”.

Calling for the public not to speculate about the crash, Det Insp Berry said: “I would ask that the privacy of all is respected at this time.”
