Emergency services and the air ambulance are attending a "serious collision" which has closed a road.

The collision occurred in Church Lane in Gorleston, Norfolk, earlier and is believed to be between a car and motorcycle.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at 10:14 BST using hydraulic rescue equipment.

In a post on X, Norfolk Police said the road has been closed in both directions and have advised drivers to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Dr Catherine Richards, college principal at nearby East Norfolk Sixth Form College thanked staff and students who were "amongst the first people to respond".

She said: “Following a serious road traffic collision outside of the college this morning, I would like to pay tribute to the college staff and students and members of the public who responded so quickly and professionally.

"They were among the first people to respond, alerted the emergency services and then continued to support the emergency services throughout.

"Our thoughts are very much with the people involved in this incident at this time.”
